Industrial electroforming

Electroforming is a deposition of thick (up to several mm in thickness) metal layers which exactly reproduce the relief of base (mold) and are easily removable from it. Metal is precipitated in special baths from solutions of its salts on the surface of a conducting or non-conducting objects by the electrolysis process.

Industrial electroforming is used to manufacture intricate thin-wall copper, nickel and nickel-cobalt parts, and also the forming parts of molds.

Art electroforming is used to make bas-reliefs, sculptures, copper, silver and gold jewelry.
