All the variety of luminaires on the present-day market may be divided into the following several types:
pendant, floor-type, desk-type luminaires, and those built into the ceiling, walls, floor or furniture.
However, they all have a common feature – they emit light of almost the same color – white or slightly yellowish. They are not color luminaires.
Another color, constant and unchangeable, may only be obtained by using colored caps and shades.
The existing LED luminaires also allow the emission of light of a single preset color (Fig. 1).
Color music devices allow obtaining various constant and changing colors.
However, in the first place, the colors are not mixable, and in the second place, the size of their light sources does not allow them to be used as ordinary luminaires
The luminaires developed by us are featured by the following:
This invention offers ample scope for progress in lighting.
Such luminaires may find wide use:
- The size of emitter completely corresponds to that of an incandescent lamp (Fig. 2);
- The emitter can change its color;
- The range of colors is practically unlimited;
- The color is absolutely uniform;
- Any color is set by using a control handle in real time;
- The color can be changed automatically (a continuous variation in the color pattern). For instance, it is possible to change separately the color of each lamp in a chandelier.
- For apartment lighting
The developed luminaires allow a variation in the color and intensity of lighting at will and at any instant, and this makes it possible to change over and over the color interior of rooms.
Now it is possible to create multiple color combinations changeable at will, and this allows simultaneous solution of functional, aesthetic and emotional problems according to the purpose of one or another room and to the time of day.
Everyone will be able to choose and change colors in compliance with his or her character and mood at the moment.
The lighting is able to change a person's mood – from a keen interest and holiday excitation to absolute rest.
The new color lighting not only will adorn apartments but also will create a corresponding mood.
It is well known that colors differ in their effects: the red color stimulates the psychics, the orange one positively affects the intellectual activity, the violet one reduces irritability but does not favor the capacity for work, etc.
It is possible to create a new lighting pattern based on local and decorative lighting.
Desk, wall and ceiling lamps with shades will perfectly illuminate the desired object with the necessary light.
A decorative accentuating illumination of niches, pictures, floor vases will allow creation of a logically completed interior composition.
The color luminaires will emphasize the individuality of interior. And all this can be changed in time. Color illumination of a room changes the color of furniture, carpets, fabrics, paints – in short, of everything around. The changing color of lamp changes the room interior.
This offers ample scope for progress in color design of rooms.
- For lighting advertisement and interior of buildings
The color of advertisement and interior of buildings can also be changed in time.
- For color music devices
Color illumination of the ceiling, walls and various elements of interior (in an apartment, coffee house, bar, etc.).
The luminaires may be used under manual or automatic control (a smooth variation in the color pattern), or in the color music mode (a dynamic variation in the color pattern).
- The automatic control mode is intended for comfortable lighting of a room or for a colored- light accompaniment of popular and classic music.
- The color music mode (discotheque) is intended for a colored-light accompaniment of dynamic music.
- For using as signal lamps in instruments
Instead of separate signal lamps (red, green, yellow), it will be sufficient to have only one changing its color.
Some useful remarks:
We live in a color world... Everyone of us has the colors that he or she likes more than others. We guess that colors affect us somehow, may influence our mood and maybe even how we feel.
It is adopted to divide all colors into the two categories:
warm colors (red, yellow, orange and all colors containing even only a small fraction of these colors);
cold colors (dark and light blue, green, bluish green, bluish violet and all colors obtainable by mixing them).
As regards color temperature, light may be warm or cold, and as regards its propagation, it may be directed or diffused. It may be bright or gentle, contrasting or attenuated.
